Remote Printing

Overview

WinMan supports cloud-based printing automation which operates independently of the WinMan API to allow remote printing and label production. A software component called the “Printer Hub Client” is installed on-premise to communicate with your WinMan platform and route print jobs to appropriate printers without user intervention.

How it works

When a print job is sent to a printer in WinMan the print job is passed to a secure printer queue in the cloud. The local Printer Hub Client will continually poll the cloud queue for any new jobs. When a new job is detected, the payload is downloaded, and the job executed on the client machine. This creates a print job on the local print queue as if you were locally connected.

What type of files can I print?

Printer Hub Client currently supports PDF files and ZPL files.

Compatibility

The Printer Hub Client can print to all types of printers. The client gets its list of printers from your operating system – if your printer is installed on your computer, it will work with WinMan.
